The Texas Deer Association (TDA) proudly supports Texas students in helping to achieve their educational goals with the awarding of scholarships, on an annual basis, to deserving young Texans. This year at our 25th Annual Convention, we were able to recognize these individuals. We hope you take a couple minute to learn more about the 2023 scholarship recipients and their educational and career goals. Characterization of Classical Sheep Scrapie in White-tailed Deer After Experimental Oronasal Exposure

The transmissible spongiform encephalopathies of animals include scrapie in sheep and goats, CWD in cervids, bovine spongiform encephalopathy, and transmissible mink encephalopathy. These neurodegenerative diseases are associated with the accumulation of misfolded prion protein (PrPSc) in the central and peripheral nervous tissues as well as lymphoid tissues in the cases of classic scrapie and CWD.
