The Texas Deer Association (TDA) proudly supports Texas students in helping to achieve their educational goals with the awarding of scholarships to deserving young Texans. To select the TDA scholarship recipients, a scoring system is used in the review of each submitted Application Packet.

ELIGIBILITY

Minimum overall GPA of 3.25;
- Child or grandchild of an Active level or Sustaining level TDA Member in good standing OR volunteer for a major TDA fundraising event;
- Candidate for graduation at an accredited high school or a student currently enrolled in an accredited college, including graduate students (Homeschooling students may be considered).
- Previous recipients of a TDA scholarship are not eligible.
APPLICATION PACKET
All completed applications received by the deadline, April 10, 2026 will be considered. A completed application includes all of the following items:
- 2026 Annual Scholarship Application
- Resume
- Cover Letter – communicating your interests, achievements, motivations, and strengths Two (2) Letters of Recommendation from:
- Active level or Sustaining level TDA Member in good standing
- Teacher or a past/present employer
- Official high school transcript or current college transcript
- Essay consisting of up to 1,500 words on the importance of the Texas Deer Association and its mission
IMPORTANT DATES
April 10, 2026
Completed applications must be received at the TDA office by mail or email.
May 4, 2026
Application packets will be reviewed and scholarship recipients will be notified.
August 29, 2026
Scholarship recipients will be honored at the TDA Annual Convention. More information to follow.
October 30, 2026
To receive a scholarship check, the scholarship recipient must obtain an official Verification of Enrollment (VOE) from their school, after the Fall 2024 census date and mail or email to the TDA office by October 30, 2026. Upon receipt of this information, a scholarship check will be mailed to the recipient's address on the application. If the VOE is not received by this deadline, the scholarship award will be forfeited.
