The excitement surrounding the upcoming Brush Country Bash in Mathis has been mounting for weeks, as the Texas Deer Association finalizes plans for this first-ever event celebrating hunting season and the sporting life in the heart of south Texas!

“We could not be more thrilled with the response we have received from the hunting community across the state for this event,” said Patrick Tarlton, TDA executive director. The Texas Brush Country is the stuff of legends, and we intend for the Bash to be legendary, as well!”

The Brush Country Bash, sponsored by Rhode Ranch/Jensen Whitetails & Triumph Outdoor Adventures, is set for this Saturday, October 14th from 8am to midnight, at the Dancing Elk Alexander Ranch outside Mathis. Never before has an event of this scope and size been hosted in this region–the true heart of Texas big deer country.

One of the most-talked about events of the day is the 3D Archery Tournament, hosted by Priority Outfitting Service and Archery Country in Austin. The 3D Archery Tournament will certainly be excitement for the whole family. With multiple divisions, every shooter will have the opportunity to get in on the action. A NEW BOW will be given to every winner courtesy of Archery Country in Austin, Texas. Sign up is easy – just check the box in the registration link below your name! Registration starts at 8am and lasts until 3pm!

A skeet shoot is also planned for the early part of the day. Don’t miss your chance to shoot at the event. CASH PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED TO WINNERS! With multiple divisions, every shooter will have the opportunity to get in on the action. Sign up is easy – just check the box in the registration link below your name! Registration starts at 8am and lasts until 3pm!

The Grand Auction is also a highlight of any TDA event, offering the opportunity to bid on hunting and fishing trips, coolers, firearms, hunting gear, game feeders, and so much more! In addition, dozens of door prizes will be given away throughout the day, or you can enter the raffle for a chance to win big!

Attendees are invited to join in educational seminars, as well, sponsored by Statite and Three Rivers Farm & Ranch. These seminars will be offered on a number of topics, including: pasture supplemental nutrition, land/habitat management, DMP and deer management, quail management, and a “Why High Fence?” with two noted Texas wildlife biologists.

But perhaps the folks most excited about Saturday’s event are our sponsors! “Record Rack is a proud sponsor of the TDA Brush Country Bash and believes in all that they strive to do for the deer industry today and in the future. Deer is our passion and we want for the industry to thrive and continue to provide opportunities to many businesses and communities that share the same vision,” said Sammy Castaneda with event sponsor Record Rack Feeds. “Deer brings our families together to create long lasting memories, and we believe that through the TDA we can be a part of something that makes a difference in the industry and the families that care deeply about it.”

Our Bash closes out in a big way with an incredible dinner sponsored by Lyssy & Eckel Feeds, along with dancing and live music by the John Eric Band—sponsored by Record Rack Feeds, Three Rivers Farm & Ranch and Purina!
