The Texas Deer Association (TDA) proudly supports Texas students in helping to achieve their educational goals with the awarding of scholarships to deserving young Texans. To select the TDA scholarship recipients, a scoring system is used in the review of each submitted Application Packet.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Nominated by a TDA member in good standing;
  • A candidate for graduation at an accredited high school, or a student currently enrolled in college, including graduate students;
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.

APPLICATION PACKET

All completed applications received by the deadline, April 19, 2024 will be considered. A completed application includes all of the following items:

  • 2024 Annual Scholarship Application
  • Resume
  • Cover Letter – communicating your interests, achievements, motivations, and strengths Two (2) Letters of Recommendation from:
    • Nominating TDA Member
    • Teacher or a past/present employer
  • Official high school transcript or current college transcript
  • Essay consisting of up to 1,500 words on the importance of the TDA in helping to promote conservation and improving the quality of deer herds and hunting in Texas.

IMPORTANT DATES

April 19, 2024
Completed applications must be received at the TDA office by mail or email.

May 2024
Application packets will be reviewed and scholarship recipients will be notified.

August 17, 2024
Scholarship recipients will be honored at the TDA Annual Convention. More information to follow.

November 1, 2024
To receive a scholarship check, the scholarship recipient must obtain an official Verification of Enrollment (VOE) from their school, after the Fall 2024 census date and mail or email to the TDA office by November 1, 2024. Upon receipt of this information, a scholarship check will be mailed to the recipient’s address on the application. If the VOE is not received by this deadline, the scholarship award will be forfeited.
