AMENDMENTS TO BYLAWS
Since the Voting and Absentee Bylaws have changed, TDA wants to remind you that:
· Officer nominations must be 45 days in advance of an election · No floor nominations can be made · If not attending you can request an absentee ballot · Must be a member 30 days prior to voting

The Amendments to the Bylaws are listed below:
Section 3.03 Voting Rights
Each Active, Contributing, Sustaining, Donor or Patron Level Member in Good Standing shall be entitled to one (1) vote on each matter submitted to a vote of the members. A "Member in Good Standing" is a member who has actually joined the Texas Deer Association, declared the region for which membership is requested and paid the requisite membership fee all of which has been received by the Association Headquarters not later than thirty (30) days prior to respective region's scheduled Regional Annual Meeting. Additionally, in order to qualify as a Member in Good Standing, one may not have an outstanding balance with the Texas Deer Association, as determined by the Executive Director. Said vote shall be in person or by absentee ballot, under specific circumstances hereafter set forth, and cumulative voting by members with multiple paid memberships is not allowed. The eligible voting member must specify the region in which to cast the vote, to be received at least thirty (30) days prior to the scheduled Regional Annual Meeting. If the eligible voting member does not have a breeding facility, hunting ranch, high fence or low fence property in the region in which he resides, he may cast the vote in the region where the ranch he hunts or manages property is located, or where the member resides, provided that such designation is made in writing not less than thirty (30) days prior to the Regional Annual Meeting. Elections of directors and officers will be conducted under the guidance set forth in Article IV, Section 4.03. Section 3.08 Absentee Ballots
A member in good standing may vote in person or may vote by absentee ballot executed in writing by the member or by his duly authorized representative. Absentee ballots may be sent to a current regional officer (s) at the mailing address or email address last held by association or may be sent to association directly at its published address. Each absentee ballot shall be revocable unless expressly provided therein to be irrevocable, and in no event shall it remain irrevocable for more than three (3) months. Submission of absentee ballots by Regional members may be conducted by mail, by facsimile transmission, email or by any combination of thereof; however, the original of said absentee ballot must be available for inspection until such time as a winner has been determined in accordance with Article IV.
Section 4.03 Election of Regional Officers and Directors
Each region shall elect by a ballot vote in person or by absentee ballot (as per Section 3.08) a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Director at their annual regional meeting by that respective region's Members in Good Standing (as per Section 3.03). Election results shall be collected and tallied by the Association's President or other Executive Officer or the Executive Director or his designee in attendance at the annual regional membership meeting and shall send results to association no more than five (5) business days from date of annual meeting and not less than thirty (30) days prior to annual statewide membership meeting. The elected regional officers shall be a voting member of the region they are elected in and be in good standing with the association. Each eligible voting member may nominate one (1) person for each officer position and self-nominations will be accepted; provided that nominations for regional officers and directors must be actually received by the Association's Headquarters not later than forty-five (45) days prior to the scheduled Regional Annual Meeting. Region members will be notified by mail at the address held by the association headquarters of the upcoming regional meeting and officer elections at least thirty (30) days prior to said regional meeting. It is the member's responsibility to provide the association with any address changes. The association headquarters will provide the regional President with a list of eligible voting Members in Good Standing prior to the regional meeting, whose membership has been accepted as a Member in Good Standing at least thirty (30) days prior to the annual regional meeting. A majority vote will determine the outcome of the elections. A region shall have its annual membership meeting, officer elections and State Board elections completed and election results and meeting minutes submitted to the Association office no less than thirty (30) days prior to the annual statewide meeting. In the event of inability to elect a full slate of officers from an individual region, the open term shall run as usual and the seated representative(s) may continue until replaced at the next election. Each region shall have at least one (1) annual meeting for its members, to election regional officers and Directors for the State Board.
a. Election of regional directors shall take place in the same manner as set out in this Article, and shall be conducted at the annual regional membership meeting.
b. Although elected at the regional chapter level, the officers and directors will be announced at the annual statewide membership meeting. The terms of the officers and directors shall start and expire officially at the annual statewide membership meeting held at the annual convention and conference.
